A new executive for the Gozo University Group (GUG) was elected Saturday 7th July 2012. The AGM was held at the Sir. Wistin Camilleri School of Art, Ghajnsielem. The Presidential, Administrative and financial report were brought forward and approved by the attendants, as well as each executive member’s summary of his/her work in GUG during the past year. For the second time, elections for the MCAST and ITS Representatives were held.

GUG President Ryan Mercieca stood firm in working for a better transport system for Gozitan students studying in Malta backed up by the entire General Assembly. The President also mentioned the innovative approaches and events GUG was able to organize this year, such as the Gozo Week, the Gozitan studies Degree plus Course, CULT Gozo, Youth Gozo Volunteering Weekend, the survey and the 25 years celebrations, which are still underway.

Mr.Mercieca highlighted the success of GUG’s proposal for the possibility of Gozitan students to sit for their examinations in Gozo and thanked for their support the members and various entities that have worked closely with GUG throughout this year.
